Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation of Biological Activity of Pyridine Derivatives

ABSTRACT

Here we report a new rapid method for the synthesis of novel pyridine derivatives. Synthesized compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral analysis and evaluated for their antimicrobial activities and DNA binding ability. One of the derivatives has considerable DNA binding ability. Some of the compounds exhibit moderate to good activities against the tested the Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacterial strains as well as fungal strains.
